Rosacea & Redness

Rosacea is a common skin diagnosis causing redness, predominantly affecting women over the age of 30.

Occurring in all skin types, but with a higher risk if you are fair-skinned, rosacea is a chronic condition with flushing and sensitive skin. If you suffer, you will undoubtedly be aware of what triggers your flare-ups: often sun exposure, stress, alcohol, exercise, temperature changes, or spicy foods.

Dermatologists do not fully understand the causes of rosacea, but it is likely to result from a combination of immunological, environmental and genetic influences. The underlying problem often involves an impaired skin barrier function which can be strengthened by active ingredients such as niacinamide. Although there is no definitive cure, advances in skincare mean that with the appropriate care, rosacea can be managed and controlled.
